The Specific Plan for the Gold Rush Ranch and Golf Resort project has been submitted to the City of Sutter Creek. The City held two public map showings on January 22, 2006 which provided the public a chance to review the maps and ask the project team questions about the Plan. Over 100 members of the Sutter Creek community participated in the map showing. The City is now reviewing the Specific Plan and public hearings will be scheduled soon. The Specific Plan implements the goals and policies of the Sutter Creek General Plan, and is being used by the City to plan the future of the Project at a greater level of detail than that provided by the General Plan. The Specific Plan describes land uses, infrastructure needs, development standards, and design standards for the Project. This Specific Plan is an evolving document that may be modified prior to final City Council action. The next phase of the project is the completion of the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and a series of technical analysis reports that will cover infrastructure, grading, environmental and cultural resources, zoning and design standards, and a project phasing plan. These reports are currently being drafted and should be available for public review and comment in late spring 2006. Physical copies of the Specific Plan can be downloaded from the link below or checked-out from either the Sutter Creek Library or City Hall. The plan is also available at the Gold Rush office above Sutter Creek Coffee Roasting Company at 20 Eureka Street. We encourage residents to contact us with questions and comments on subjects of mutual concern. Sincerely, John Telischak, Bill Bunce and Troy Claveran - Project Sponsors
