COMMUNITY BENEFITS

Making Life Better For All of Sutter Creek

The Gold Rush Ranch & Golf Resort has been created with extensive community input. As a result, the project has been designed to benefit all of Sutter Creek. The project includes 12 new residential neighborhoods, a championship golf course, over 5 miles of hiking and biking trails, several public parks, community tennis courts, and funding for full-time fire and paramedic services. In addition, approximately 300 acres of open space and oak forest will be permanently preserved. The project will be the main contributor to the construction of an improved sewage treatment and water recycling plant as well as school facilities.

A Love For Sutter Creek History

To preserve the historic character of Sutter Creek, the Gold Rush Ranch & Golf Resort will adhere to strict design guidelines that will incorporate the Victorian and Craftsman architecture that give Sutter Creek its charm and its special place in California history. In addition, the project will preserve a hundred year old dam and restore portions of the Noble Ranch that were degraded by mining in the 1800's. The only Indian archeological site will also be preserved. Interpretive monuments will highlight a former goldmine and other historically significant features.

Giving Back to the Community

Development of the Gold Rush Ranch & Golf Resort will provide important public service benefits for Sutter Creek without increasing taxes on existing Sutter Creek residents. These include:

  • Establishment of a paid, full-time Fire Department (including emergency paramedic services).
  • Significant contributions to new school facilities.
  • A 5-mile network of bicycle and hiking trails.
  • Significant contributions for an improved sewage treatment and water recycling plant.
  • Numerous employment opportunities for local residents.
  • A new championship golf course, public parks and community tennis courts
  • Provide land for new police and fire stations.

Respect for the Land

The Gold Rush Ranch & Golf Resort will permanently preserve approximately 300 acres of oak forest and open space. A full Environmental Impact Report is being prepared and mitigations will be implemented for all environmental impacts. Strict safeguards will protect permanent forested areas and ares of new wildlife habitat will also be created. A extensive network of bicycle and hiking trails will make this land accessible to the public. The golf course and the new homes will be nestled carefully withing the contours of the land in order to preserve environmentally sensitive areas.

A Good Neighbor for Sutter Creek

The Gold Rush Ranch & Golf Resort will increase the local tax base, enabling Sutter Creek to better finanace police, fire, and street maintenance. It will also create many local full time jobs and provide housing that will be afordable for a variety of income levels. The Highway 49 Bypass will divert additional residential traffic away from downtown. The new golf course will be irrigated with recycled waste water. The local economy will benefit; the environment will be respected; and Sutter Creek will gain a good neighbor.
